What is IVH, or bleeding of the brain?“IVH stands for intraventricular hemorrhage, and it's a condition that often can affect babies, especially whenborn prematurely. So generally, the more premature a baby, the higher the risk for developing IVH. And what itreally describes is bleeding within the ventricles of the brain and it can be from mild, moderate to severe.“The babies who are at the highest risk of developing IVH are the babies who are born very prematurely, suchas babies born around 24 weeks of gestation and up through about 28 weeks of gestation.”This program is for informational purposes only.
