1. Las mujeres que fuman en el embarazo tienen más probabilidades de tener bebés con anomalías congénitas (defectos de nacimiento).


2. Fumar no aumenta el riesgo de una mujer de tener un embarazo ectópico.


3. Las embarazadas deben mantenerse alejadas del humo ambiental del tabaco.


4. Fumar aumenta el riesgo de tener un bebé prematuro o de que el bebé nazca muerto.


5. Es probable que un bebé cuya madre fuma pese menos al nacer que un bebé que no estuvo expuesto al humo.


6. Los bebés cuyas madres fuman en el embarazo tienen una probabilidad 3 veces mayor de morir debido al síndrome de muerte súbita del lactante (SMSL).
