The caregiver should wear a mask and wait as long as possible after a sick person hasused the bathroom.Do not share household items such as dishes, glasses, utensils, towels, or bedding with loved ones in yourhome. It’s important to wash your household items thoroughly with soap and water or put them in thedishwasher. Limit your contact with your pet and other animals. But call your doctor before going into their office or emergency room and let themknow your symptoms and if you have the virus.Wear a facemask before you visit your healthcare provider’s office or emergency room. Practice socialdistancing. Try to stay at least six feet away from people. This will help protect the people in your doctor’soffice and waiting room. You may be asked to wait in your car instead of the waiting room to prevent thespread. It’s important to follow the advice of your healthcare provider and local health department before ending selfisolation to protect your family and community.
